Ontario Government Invests $2.4 Million in Hospital Services Annual investment will improve access to hospital services

HAMILTON – Patients at Hamilton Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s will have improved access to hospital services such as inpatient surgical, intensive, neonatal and emergency care, thanks to a four million dollar investment from the Ontario government, announced Ted McMeekin, MPP and Sophia Aggelonitis, MPP.

“These hospitals provide quality health care services to local residents and is an important part of the community,” said McMeekin on behalf of George Smitherman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care.

“This new funding will improve the hospital’s newest or expanded programs and services. And better services mean that patients will be able to receive quality care closer to home” added Aggelonitis.

This investment will support the service expansion in Ambulatory Care at both Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, as well as St. Joseph’s.

“Our government is supporting new or expanded hospitals as they make improvements to provide patients with better access to quality care,” added Smitherman.
